You're hot or cold.
You do or you don't.
You're pro or against.
You go or you stay.
So we're good to go. But what does that really mean? To go means to cross. You leave your world and cross into someone else's. You might need to cross the room, cross the street or cross the sea. That's what it takes to engage, getting close enough to make a difference. Close enough to rub off. Close enough to let Jesus flow through you. Close enough for the joy in you to put a smile on the face of another. Close enough to offer a shoulder when a tear is shed. Close enough to experience God's transformational power impact a community. That's close.
'The place where God calls you
is the place where your deep gladness
and the world's deep hunger meet.'
Frederick Buechner
There's a community of people around the world today living for the tomorrows of others. This is a community that's prepared to put aside comfort and safety, choosing to live on the risky side of faith.
It wields weapons and tools not crafted by men, eats soul food you can't reheat in the microwave and offers love you can't find in a Hallmark card.
ProGo is a programme designed to inspire and empower you to effectively make a difference in the lives of many others. Think of it like a virus. You get the bug, then those you connect with become infected, passing on the bug to their circle of friends. Viral pandemic.
The ProGo interns will be actively involved in connecting with, communicating to and inspiring this generation of Jesus-followers to live life wholeheartedly for the sake of making Jesus widely known in the UK and around the world. Feeling contagious?
'Only those who will risk going too far
can possibly find out how far one can go.'
TS Elliot
